Editor's Notebook

The Editor's Notebook will keep you apprised of the latest developments at the Series and the preoccupations of its Editor. Part blog, part FAQ page, the Notebook takes its inspiration from the columns of periodicals past and present.

In nineteenth-century periodicals such as the Overland Monthly, in special issues of journals such as Western American Literature and South Dakota Review, and in many a trade periodical, editors conventionally address readers about what's new in that issue or in the world or the discipline at large. They explain changes in their publication, raise matters of public interest, or recommend readings.

The Editor's Notebook on our website works similarly as a direct communication from the Series Editor to readers, covering a wide range of topics presumed to interest both. If you would like to suggest a topic for the Notebook, please email the Editor at tpenry@boisestate.edu.

Happy Reading!
